The 50th Anniversary of Title IX is June 2022, and we want to celebrate the opportunities Title IX has created for pregnant and parenting students–while pushing for more! Just in time for this important milestone, the Department of Education is considering adopting new Title IX regulations, and The Pregnant Scholar team is eager to make sure they include stronger protections for pregnant, parenting, and lactating students. The Title IX Regulations that are currently in place don’t make clear that lactating students are protected. Without this clarity, many schools are failing to provide the lactation break time, space, and other supports that nursing students need.
We’re looking for quotes, interviews, feedback, and letter sign on’s from student parents and their allies to raise awareness of why it is so important to support lactating students. To contribute, fill out the form below.
By sharing your experience and input, you will play a key role in advocating for changes to support students nationwide. By submitting information on this form, you are consenting to The Pregnant Scholar using some or all of the information publicly in order to raise awareness of lactating students’ needs and to serve as a call for action. If you have questions about this or how your information will be used, just let us know in the form.
Thank you for speaking up, and we can’t wait to hear from you!
